How did Alyssia Palomino die?
According to reports, Palomino died on Aug. 4 at the age of 28. The right-hander pitched one season at Auburn (2011) before transferring to Cypress Community College and then to NAIA Point University.
Palomino, who came to Auburn from Rialto, Calif., appeared in four games for the Tigers in 2011, allowing eight walks and a pair of strikeouts.

The family are yet to make public the obituary and funeral arrangements.
A GoFundMe page has been created on behalf of the Palomino family. As of Monday afternoon, the page had raised more than $14,000.
“Her name is Alyssia Palomino and at the moment she is far from home,” read a message on her GoFundMe. “We need to bring her home one last time. She has left this world, but never the hearts of all she touched. It seems like just yesterday when we watched her pack her bags to go to Auburn to play softball in Alabama.”

The Auburn Softball wrote on twitter:
“It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Alyssia Palomino.
Her efforts both on and off the field left a lasting impact. She was a friend to all. We will miss her infectious laugh and contagious personality.”
