Audrey Mae Schemenaur Obituary – Audrey M. (Sutton) Schemenaur, of Green Township, passed away peacefully at her home on January 10, 2022, surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy battle with C.O.P.D. She was known as “Auddie” her adult life, but also by her lifelong childhood friends as “Crickie”. Auddie was born August 5, 1928, in Sayler Park to Arthur and Jennie (née Demmons) Sutton and lived her entire life in Cincinnati. She lived most of her adult life in Delhi Hills, Ohio before moving to Green Township four years ago.

She married the late Andrew J. Schemenaur III in 1949 and which lasted 48 years until his passing in 1997. Auddie was blessed with six children: Michael Wayne (who passed shortly after birth), Andrew J, IV, Michael W., David D., Richard A., and Jennifer L.. She loved being a mom however she coveted the title grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma. She was hoping to hold on for the birth of her 26th great-grandchild due in May, but her health would not co-operate. Auddie enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales. She was a collector of precious moments figurines, glassware, and Longaberger baskets. Auddie also sold Avon for 35 years and in her retirement, she enjoyed playing cards, putting puzzles together, word find games and she read numerous books per week. She was most proud of being a track runner and held several city records. Auddie also had a sweet tooth and enjoyed chocolate candies and her beloved Coca-Cola (if you have stock you might want to sell them.)
Auddie was preceded in death by her husband: Andrew J. Schemenaur III.; son: Michael Wayne Schemenaur; two grandsons: Matthew Schemenaur & Robert Auel; parents: Arthur & Jennie (nee Demmons) Sutton; Father-in-law & Mother-in-law: Andrew J. II and Helyn Schemenaur; sister and brother-in-law: Doris & George Redding.

Survivors include her beloved children: Andrew J IV (Parry) Schemenaur, Michael W. (Terri) Schemenaur, David D. (Cheryl) Schemenaur, Richard A. (Dana) Schemenaur, and Jennifer L. (Greg) Callabro; Cherished grandchildren: Shawn (Gail) Carnes, AJ (Carly) Schemenaur, Angela Daub, Michael W II (Jolleen) Schemenaur, Trisha (Mathew) Burkholder, Brian (Lauren) Auel, Jennifer’s Jozef, Stefani Callabro, TJ (Tamara) Callabro, Matt (Hailli) Callabro, Josh Schemenaur, Zach (Jenna) Schemenaur, and Courtney (Ben) Maxfield; great grandchildren: Logan, Wyatt & Leah Schemenaur, Brandi Owens, Sarah White, Matthew, Liam, & Sophia Carnes, Meghan Daub, Kaitlyn (Quinten) Hines, Taylor (Levi) Legg, Chloe & Ethan Burkholder, Michael W. III & Brynn N. Schemenaur, Allison, Brooke & Anna Reese Auel, Ellen, Ben, and Jack Victory, Jude, Vivienne & Mila Schemenaur, Maddie, Jack, Emily, Henry & Asa Maxfield, Jaxon Callabro & one great-grandchild on the way. Great-Great-Grandchildren: James Hines, Madeline McHale.

Her last most enduring treasure was that of the lifelong friends she had since childhood. Several lasted for eighty-five-plus years. She will be greatly missed but we have peace in the fact that she left a part of herself in each of her children and extended families.

Audrey Mae Schemenaur Visitation

Visitation will be at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 138 Monitor Ave., Sayler Park, Ohio 45233 on Sunday, January 16, 2022: 1 pm -2 pm for elderly & immune-compromised; 2 pm until the time of the funeral service at 4 pm for everyone. Services will be live-streamed for those unable to attend. Burial will be 1:30 pm, on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Memorials to Queen City Hospice of Cincinnati Animal Care. A funeral home representative will be able to help you during the visitation and services. If you are unable to attend. Mail your donation (make payable to one of the above charities) to the funeral home. The family will be notified of your donation.
