How did Brian Sheridan die?

American Heritage-Delray coach Brian Sheridan has died at the age of 45, according to his alma mater, Rutgers University, and the school’s Twitter account.

“It is with very heavy hearts that we have to announce the passing of our head football coach, Brian Sheridan,” American Heritage-Delray said in a statement. “He quietly and courageously fought an illness for several months.

“He truly loved each and every one of his students and players. He was an inspiration to the young people he worked with, always impressing upon them the importance of academics and athletics. He will be remembered for his strength and compassion.

“The entire American Heritage family is grieving this loss. Coach Sheridan will be greatly missed by all of us.”
