Dominic Cocilo Obituary – Dominic Cocilo, 94, of Waterford, entered eternal life on Jan. 5, 2022. He was born March 28, 1927, in New London the son of the late Carl and Nancy (Palazzolo) Cocilo.

Dominic Cocilo Background

Mr. Cocilo was an Army veteran of the Korean War and spent time in Alaska as a machine operator. He married the love of his life, the former Dorothy Racine Sept. 23, 1950, in Willimantic. Mrs. Cocilo passed Oct. 29, 2005. Mr. Cocilo was employed for the Civil Service working at Navy Housing retiring after many years. He enjoyed life with Dorothy by dancing to Big Band music of the 50s and 60s. They also spent 21 winters in Florida, making many friendships during their time.

Dominic Cocilo Survivors

He is survived by two siblings, Louis Cocilo, and Bernadette Ripetti, both of New London; several nieces and nephews in North Carolina, New London, and Dubai. He was predeceased by four siblings, Joe, Benny and Tony Cocilo, and Marie McCollum.

Dominic Cocilo Visitation and Burial Service

His family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 63 Old Norwich Rd. Quaker Hill. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery with military honors.
