Carol Sue Zemel Death – Dr. Carol Sue Zemel has died on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Elizabeth Bruyere Hospital in Ottawa. Dr. Zemel passed away peacefully in her 80th year, according to a report.
Zemel is the daughter of Joseph W. Moscovitch and Beatrice (nee Rebecca) Greenblatt, both previously deceased. She was born in Montreal, stayed in various cities including, New York City, Philadelphia, Buffalo, and Toronto.
Dr. Zemel worked as a university professor of art history, also as new media studies and Jewish history. According to Wikipedia, Art history is the study of aesthetic objects and visual expression in historical and stylistic context. Traditionally, the discipline of art history emphasized painting, drawing, sculpture, architecture, ceramics, and decorative arts, yet today, art history examines broader aspects of visual culture, including the various visual and conceptual outcomes related to an ever-evolving definition of art.
Carol also taught at the State University of New York at Buffalo, and most recently at York University in Toronto. At the time of her passing, she was retired. Research made it known that New York University is a private research university in New York City. Chartered in 1831 by the New York State Legislature, NYU was founded by a group of New Yorkers led by then-Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin.
