Dr Shirley McGreal Death – Cause Of Death – Founder of the International Primate Protection League, Dr Shirley McGreal has sadly passed away over the weekend. Shirley was born in England and also grew there. Shirley received her doctorate in India.

Shirley resided in Thailand and France, as well as in Illinois and Ohio in the United States. after some time she was finally settled in South Carolina, where set up a gibbon sanctuary in 1977.

Shirley McGreal established International Primate Protection League in 1973, and the establishment has gone on to improve the lives of innumerable animals all over the world through anti-trafficking work and rescues from laboratories.

Friends and loved ones have taken to social media to share tribute on the legends passing. Oklahoma Primate Sanctuary, Inc said via facebook:

We’ve just heard the sad news that Shirley McGreal has passed away. Her compassion and dedication to primates, both human and non, are legendary and she will be sorely missed.
In addition to her rescues and worldly travels, she served as an advisory board member for OPS for many years and her experience and guidance were instrumental in our growth. Thank you Shirley for all you accomplished – well done!
