“It is with deep sadness that I write to you with some tragic news.

“On Sunday evening, one of our Year 11 pupils, Ellie Paine, was involved in a road traffic accident.

“Consequently, Ellie suffered serious injuries and died in hospital last night.

“I have written to Ellie’s family to express our deepest sympathies at this time and a book of condolences has been set up in the school if you wish to express your sympathies to the family.”

She added: “We will remember Ellie as an enthusiastic and hard-working member of our school, an accomplished artist and a dedicated member of her house.

“Ellie was a wonderful friend to many children; she will be greatly missed by us all.”
“Ellie was keen to take part in everything, and was a wonderful friend to many children; she will be greatly missed by us all.”

Ms Kelly said she had talked with many of the children today about what had happened and assured parents that staff would be available to support children through this difficult time.
