Sister Maureen McDermott Death – Bishop Shanahan High School in Pennsylvania, are devastated by the loss of Sister Maureen McDermott, who was a former principal of the school. Sister Maureen McDermott’s passing was announced the school’s official Facebook page on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. Archbishop Ryan High School and Archbishop Wood Catholic High School had also confirmed Sister Maureen’s demise in posts on their official page.

Sister Maureen McDermot was the Chief Academic Officer and Superintendent of Secondary Schools for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, PA. She was a sister of the Immaculate Heart of Mary(IHM). Sister Maureen served as the principal of Bishop Shanahan High School(BSHS) from 2001 to 2015. She was someone who was committed and devoted her 14 years of service as a principal to the Catholic education in Pennsylvania and beyond.

Sister Maureen was a graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School class of ’74 and a Ph.D holder. She was committed to spiritual formation and personal development of students during her service in the school. The IHM Congregation, students, staff and colleagues of Bishop Shanahan High School are saddened by the sudden loss of Sister Maureen as they share their grief and send condolences to the family and friends. Sister Maureen McDermot obituary and funeral service has not been announced by the family yet.
