Shared tributes on Laurie Dirr’s passing.

Nancy Gurska – “The private message came yesterday, and it felt like the world had stopped for a minute. I was in shock and lost my breath. The universe has lost a dear friend and teacher colleague. Mrs. Laurie Dirr one of the best passed yesterday morning. Laurie and I became friends from being junior prom advisors together. It was a lot of work, but fun in the end. Once she called me the day of the prom and said can you find 30 gold fish and tea lights for the tables? Just one of the many stories told. The world’s light is dimmer tonight. Laurie made the world a better place. She was a beacon of light for many staff members and her students. She will always be a candle that shines in the dark. My hope is that she will shower her family with many blessings

MJ Heather Haddix – “GCHS family and Class of 2006: I’m sure many of you may already know but the world lost a wonderful person yesterday, Mrs. Laurie Dirr. I can’t begin to think of how many students’ lives she touched with her positive outlook and that big smile. Please keep her husband, children, and family in your prayers. I’ll share arrangements when I see them.”
