Sad to hear Jim Haynes has passed, an influential counter culture force of nature who truly lived art and words, he co-founded @traversetheatre& helped set up @EdFringe & Arts Lab London. We had some great chats and it always made me happy to see him. A true inspiration.

Saddened to hear of Jim Haynes passing in Paris. A counter-culture force in the 1960s onwards, he was known in most recent years for his open door Paris dinners. I stayed with him often, interviewed him and enjoyed his difference. The world is a lesser place today.

So sad to hear of the death of Jim Haynes. As well as his huge impact on theatre and Edinburgh’s growing internationalism, he was immersed in movies. Will never forget the secret screening of his Dietrich Songs

I was at the American Booksellers Association gig in Chicago and had this funny and cosmic meeting with one author around every corner–or so it seemed. I mentioned that I was going to Paris, and she said, “If you go to Paris you must have dinner with Jim Haynes.”
Jim never said NO. I was typesetting pages for a new American edition of EVERYTHING IS! and posting pages on Facebook when when I was told someone else had acquired the rights. Jim confirmed it saying he “Could never say no.”
We remained good friends. It was simply impossible to be anything else.
