First Circuit Judge Juan R. Torruella died today, court says. He was 87. Torruella served in the federal judiciary for more than four decades as an appeals and district court judge.

    Nuestro mas sentido pesame a su esposa Judith y su familia. Sentida perdida para Puerto Rico que ha perdido un Letrado defensor de todas las causas justas, especialmente para Puerto Rico. Tuve el privilegio de trabajar a su lado en varias Asociaciones en el deporte de la vela.
    No solo fue un gran competidor, sino tambien un gran ser humano. Que en paz descanse.
