Kevin Kass Death – A 44-year-old Wexford man has been identified as the pedestrian killed in a crash on Interstate 79 south Monday, November 22, 2021, according to a report by the state. On the arrival of the police in the left lane of the highway near milepost 68.5 in Sewickley Hills where the incident happened, Kevin Kass, the Wexford man has already lain on the ground after when he was hit by a Ford F-150, the police added.
After Kevin Kass was struck by the Ford, he was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling in the left lane, police, the impact of this collision made Kass died at the scene but the police confirmed that neither of the drivers was injured.
Research revealed that there were 154 pedestrian fatalities in 2019 and 146 in 2020, according to PennDOT statistics. Crashes involving pedestrians are typically rare, accounting for less than 3% of all crashes annually, but they are responsible for about 13% of fatalities. Approximately 75% of pedestrian fatalities happen during dark hours.
