To the Centerville Community,
The family of school board member Mike Moore has suffered a tragic loss. Mike’s nephew, Kolton Gonnerman, passed away as a result of an automobile accident. Out of respect for Mike and his family, we would like to postpone the board meeting scheduled for Monday, July 13. At this time, we plan to reschedule the meeting for Monday, July 20. Please keep Mike and his family in your thoughts.

Lord JESUS, I lift up so many to You from our community right now!!! May YOUR hand of peace be upon them. May You fill their hearts with Your love. Help us to turn to YOU in this time of tragedy. May we bend our knee and come to You in this season. May we look to You for our eternal destination. Let us keep our eyes peeled on You. You are the way, the truth, and the life. There is no name, besides JESUS, that can give us freedom and eternal security! One day we’ll stand before YOU and explain why we accepted YOU, or not. I pray for Kolton Gonnerman’s family. We lean on You, JESUS, during this time. We give YOU all of our burdens during this time. May we praise You for your goodness during this time. May You fill our loss with the promise of the Cross. May You fill our loss with the HOPE and ETERNAL SECURITY bound by Your love and the sacrifice You made for our sins on the cross. We rest in the peace of YOUR PROMISE. We call on You, MOST HIGH, to come into our hearts and make our lives Your home! Capture our minds with Your truth. May we not lean on our weak human frame, but on the CREATOR who made it. Move us from complacency into a true, DEEP walk with YOU! May we number our days, for they are few. May we honor YOU with our lives and know that the blood YOU shed wasn’t for a select few but for ANY who choose to walk with YOU! May we make a wise choice. This choice is up to US. Let us not delay, for we don’t know the day. ❤

Its a sad day for Centerville. Kolton Gonnerman was not only a stand out athlete at CHS, but a stand up human being. I was fortunate to be able to present Kolton with his Hall of Fame Induction plaque last Fall. You’ll never meet a more deserving, well rounded individual. His memory will live forever in the Hall of Fame and in the hearts of Big Reds everywhere. Rest well young man.

My heart is breaking this morning as I think about my Iowa family. My cousin’s son died in a car accident last night. He was only 24. We don’t get to spend a lot of time with them, but I was always happy when my boys got to spend time there. Kolton Gonnerman always took time to hang out with them or show them something cool. He was a great example of a true gentleman who loved his mom and put family first; the type of man I hope my boys become. I can’t put into words the heartache I feel for my family and what they are going through. Prayers and love to all of you. 💞
