Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Kyla Rowland Death – Legendary songwriter, Kyla Rowland Has Died

Kyla Rowland Death – Gold City is saddened to learn of the passing of our friend and legendary songwriter, Kyla Rowland. It’s hard to think about Gold City without mentioning Kyla’s songs, as they’ve been a huge part of the history of this group. We were blessed to sing many of Kyla’s greatest songs down thorough the years. Her song, There Rose A Lamb, won both the GMA Dove Award and Singing News Fan Award for Song of the Year in 1993.

Other songs of Kyla’s that Gold City has been privileged to sing are Windows Of Home, Where Is God, God Handled It All, Between Me And The Storm, Pray, This Old Sinner Testifies, Guilty of Loving Me, He’s Still On The Throne, and One Scarred Hand, which reached the number one spot in November 1991.

Danny Riley says, “We love Kyla Rowland. She was always a cheerleader for this group, and her powerful songs are still a part of our program every night. It has been an honor to introduce her songs to the world. We are sad for the loss of our friend, but we know she is experiencing the joys of heaven that she wrote about so powerfully. Our prayers are with her family at this time.”
