Smith Sumroy Death – Smith Sumroy, who was a longtime stage manager of NBC in New York, died unexpectedly early this year leaving family and friends in grief and despair as they mourn his passing. David A. Mackey in a Facebook post on Thursday, November 25, 2021, said a Memoriam credit was held in honor of the veteran stage manager. “There was a brief In Memoriam credit on the NBC coverage of the parade for Smith Sumroy, who was a stage manager.” He said.

David also said Smith was a stage manager on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire when he was a contestant and said Smith was at the backstage area for contestants. He continued in his post, “He was also a stage manager on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire when I was a contestant. He was assigned to the backstage waiting area for contestants and was the last human barrier between me and the stage. (Smith followed his dad Jack into the profession.)”

According to Wikipedia, The National Broadcasting Company(NBC) is an American English-language commercial broadcast television and radio network owned by Comcast. The network is headquartered at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, with additional major offices near Los Angeles, and Chicago. Smith Sumroy obituary will be announced by the family.
