Melissa Kolonich Death – Melissa Kolonich of Franklin Township, New Jersey, reportedly died on Thursday, November 11, 2021 after being killed in an apparent murder-suicide situation. According to the Gloucester County authorities say that 42-year-old Melissa Kolonich was stabbed to death by her husband, John Kolonich, 46, who shot himself to death shortly afterwards the same day. The county law enforcement said John  drove of in his car and traveled south before taking his own after causing some damage for someone else.

Acting Chief of Detectives for Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, Thomas Gilbert said the murder suspect was found dead inside his car by the Franklin Township Police Department after they responded to a report of a car that was parked in someone else’s backyard. The police say John Kolonich killed Melissa Kolonich in their home and the assailant shot himself in the head afterwards. Gloucester County Medical Examiner & Coroner said Melissa’s body was marked with multiple stab wounds and her death was classified as a homicide situation, while John Kolonich’s death was ruled a suicide by rifle fire.

Melissa was an alumnus of Cumberland Regional High School and studied Dental Hygiene at Harcum College. The Freitag Funeral Home of New Jersey, announced in a post on their official Facebook page that Melissa Kolonich memorial service will be held on Friday morning November 19th, 2021, at 11 o’clock at the Gloucester County Community Church, 359 Chapel Heights Road in Sewell and friends will be received around 9 and 11am. She was a dedicated mother of a daughter. Melissa Kolonich will be announced by the family.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday morning November 19th at 11 o’clock at the Gloucester County Community Church, 359 Chapel Heights Road in Sewell where friends will be received between 9 and 11.
The interment will take place privately and at the convenience of the family.”

The Gateway to True Crime – “A #NewJersey woman and man are dead after an apparent murder-suicide late last week, according to county law enforcement.Gloucester County authorities say that 42-year-old Melissa Kolonich was stabbed to death by her husband, John Kolonich, 46, who later shot himself during the late morning hours on Thursday, Nov. 11.
First, the husband killed his wife, law enforcement said. Next, he got in his car and briefly traveled south before causing a bit more damage for someone else. Then, he allegedly took his own life.
In a press release, Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Acting Chief of Detectives Thomas Gilbert announced that the presumed murder suspect was found dead inside of his car after officers with the Franklin Township Police Department responded to reports of an automobile that was haphazardly parked in someone else’s backyard.
Prior to the crash, John Kolonich killed Melissa Kolonich inside their nearby home, police say. After the crash, the assailant is said to have shot himself in the head. The deceased woman’s death was ruled a homicide and her body is said to have received multiple stab wounds, according to the Gloucester County Medical Examiner & Coroner. John Kolonich’s death was ruled a suicide by rifle fire.
According to NJ101.5, the couple had one daughter.”
