How Did Michael Garbo Die? – Cause of Death

The DEA agent who was killed Monday on an Amtrak train in Tucson, Arizona, while on duty, was identified by federal officials as Michael Garbo.

Garbo was shot dead when a passenger, who also died, opened fire while officers conducted a routine inspection for illegal weapons, cash and drugs on the train bound for New Orleans from Los Angeles. A second federal agent and a Tucson police officer were injured.

Tucson Police Chief Chris Magnus said one person was arrested at the scene, while another person who barricaded himself in the bathroom of the double-decker train was shot dead.

A criminal complaint identified the suspect who was arrested as Devonte Okeith Mathis.

The injured federal officer was taken to hospital in a police car and is being treated at Banner University Medical Center.

Another Tucson Police Officer was shot but is expected to survive.
