Olavi Rinteenpää, the Olympian Medalist Dies at Age 97

Olavi Rinteenpää Death – The obstacle course medalist Olavi Rinteenpää from Kerava died on Monday at the age of 97. Rinteenpää was the oldest surviving Finnish Olympic athlete. He finished fourth in the 3,000-meter hurdles at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. Born September 24, 1924, he represented Finland in the 3,000 meters steeplechase at the 1952 and 1956 Summer Games.

Outside the racetracks, Rinteenpää worked as a dental technician.
