Richard Finnerty – Death – Richard Finnerty of Scituate, Massachusetts, has died unexpectedly at the age of 55, leaving family and friends in grief and despair. His passing was announced Monday, November 15, 2021. Richard was born in Boston, MA, on January 19, 1966 and was raised in Scituate where he grew up. He was the son of Nancy J. Finnerty and late Richard F. Finnerty. He was an alumnus of Scituate High School.
Richard Finnerty was a graduate of Champlain College in Vermont and worked at the Sheet Metal Workers Local 17 in Boston afterwards. Richard worked for almost 30 years before retiring from his career and he was known as the Gentle Giant by his coworkers. He loved walking the dog and loved the ocean. He was someone who enjoyed spending time with his family especially his three children from which he derived his greatest pride and joy.
He was always available and took delight in attending his children’s sporting events. He will be missed by his former wife Deborah Finnerty of Scituate and his amazing children Nicole Finnerty, Matthew Finnerty and Grace Finnerty. Dignity memorial announced that visiting hours will be on Friday November 19, 2021 from 4-8 PM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, MA and funeral service will held on Saturday November 20, 2021, at 10:00am at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate, MA.
