Sam Johnson Cause Of Death – Authorities have identified the pedestrian of a deadly collision on a major Gateshead road as 25-year-old Sam Johnson from Jarrow. The accident happened at the junction between the A195 and Follingsby Lane in Gateshead at around 5:10 am on Sunday 21 November.
Johnson was struck by a heavy goods vehicle on the A194(M) eastbound A194, He was transported to Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with life-threatening injuries where he was later pronounced dead overnight.
Sam Johnson was a first-class honours graduate of Northumbria University and was in the final stages of his accountancy professional qualifications at a city-based accountancy firm. The Northumbria Police confirmed through an online statement that the driver of the lorry remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their investigation.
A man has sadly died following a collision involving a HGV in #Gateshead. It happened at 5.10am yesterday on the A194(M) near Follingsby Lane. A pedestrian was hit by a lorry & suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the HGV remained at the scene & is helping our officers.
