The Travis AFB airman who was found dead in her Vacaville residence on Tuesday has been identified by the Air Force as Senior Airman Zulema Gonzalez-Romero.
Gonzalez-Romero was part of the 60th surgical operations squadron in 60th Medical Group. She was 26 years old.
“We are deeply saddened by the recent loss of life within our Travis Air Force Base family. We express our sympathies to those affected by this loss,” Col. Jeffrey Nelson, 60th Air Mobility Wing commander, said in a statement posted by the Public Affairs division.
The Air Force declined to release information about where Gonzalez-Romero called home, citing family privacy.
“We are in close coordination with the various organizations surrounding this situation as we establish further insight,” Nelson said. “As a matter of policy, we will not release specific information due to the ongoing investigation. Please respect the family’s privacy in this difficult time.”
Vacaville police Lt. Chris Polen said that foul play is not suspected in her death.
