John Brooks Death – A Jefferson man died following a two-vehicle collision in Marion County. The crash occurred on FM 248 about four and a half miles northeast of Jefferson around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety reports, a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was moving south on FM 248 while a 1998 Dodge Ram was traveling north. The driver of the Dodge failed to give the motorcycle the right-of-way as it was turning left onto a county road.

The driver of the motorcycle identified as 58-year-old John Brooks was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident. The driver of the pickup sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under active accident.
