Willie Lindsey Obituary, Death – Survived by

Willie Lindsey Obituary – Willie Clifton Lindsey, Sr., passed away on January 10, 2022, in Gray, Georgia. Willie was born on August 16th, 1925, in Fitzgerald, Georgia. He married Bertie Lee Tipton, on July 5th, 1951, in Macon, Georgia. Billy, as he was known growing up, graduated in May or June 1943 from Fitzgerald High School at age 17.

He turned 18 in August of 1943 and went into the army in August of 1943. He was in the 273rd Infantry Regiment, 69th infantry division. After WWII, Willie was a salesman for a dairy, and later for Life of Virginia Insurance Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing motorcycles, often traveling to Colorado to hunt.

Willie is preceded in death by his wife, Bertie, and his sons; Paul and W. Cliff Lindsey. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law; Dan and Kim Lindsey and Shelby and Missie Lindsey, and grandchildren; Margo Byrne (Josephine and Clifton), Rob and Jes Lindsey (Walter, Simon, and Arthur), Aspen Lindsey, Megan, and Eli Huffman, Haley and Ethan Creed, Rachel Lindsey, and Josh Lindsey.
The viewing will be 10:30-11:00 AM graveside at Macon Memorial Park, with graveside service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 15th, 2022.
